Why You'll Love This Recipe
Celebrate Your Dog: You will love this dog friendly birthday cake and so will your pup! Our dogs live such short lives compared to us, so every minute is worth celebrating. Especially their birthdays! This Blueberry Peanut Butter Dog Cake is the perfect dog friendly cake to celebrate with.
Peanut Butter Cake: This easy peanut butter cake bakes up nice and fluffy in a 6-inch cake pan (discount code, use MIMIBAKES). I top it with plain peanut butter, because that is just like frosting, and dogs love it! So, it's really a true treat for them. Peanut butter is a dog safe ingredient (so long as you are buying organic peanut butter with peanuts and salt being the only ingredients).
Blueberry Topping: Then I add a bunch of fresh blueberries on top. Blueberries are so good for your dogs and John John loves them! Blueberries have antioxidants, nutrients, and more that your dog can benefit with. And they make an amazing cake topping, which makes this dog friendly birthday cake even better!

We cut it up into slices and will be delivering birthday cake slices to all his friends in the neighborhood tomorrow. You can give this dog friendly birthday cake to your pup as a dessert, or you can even sprinkle leftovers on top of their food. FAQ's
Peanut butter is a safe ingredient for dogs in moderation and should be treated like a treat. Always make sure you are buying organic peanut butter with no added sugars, flavors, and especially no xylitol. While sugars and flavors are not good for dogs, xylitol is extremely toxic for dogs! I always give John John the peanut butter we eat, which just has two ingredients (organic peanuts and sea salt).
Yes! Blueberries are a superfood for your dog, just like they are for you! Blueberries have tons of antioxidants and they can also help improve brain function and memory in dogs (um, yes please, for better listening skills!).
If your dog is not a fan of blueberries, you can also top this cake with strawberries, apples, or bananas.
