Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Celebrate Your Dog: You will love this dog friendly birthday cake and so will your pup! Our dogs live such short lives compared to us, so every minute is worth celebrating. Especially their birthdays! This Blueberry Peanut Butter Dog Cake is the perfect dog friendly cake to celebrate with.
- Peanut Butter Cake: This easy peanut butter cake bakes up nice and fluffy in a 6-inch cake pan (discount code, use MIMIBAKES). I top it with plain peanut butter, because that is just like frosting, and dogs love it! So, it's really a true treat for them. Peanut butter is a dog safe ingredient (so long as you are buying organic peanut butter with peanuts and salt being the only ingredients).
- Blueberry Topping: Then I add a bunch of fresh blueberries on top. Blueberries are so good for your dogs and John John loves them! Blueberries have antioxidants, nutrients, and more that your dog can benefit with. And they make an amazing cake topping, which makes this dog friendly birthday cake even better!
I can't believe John John is a year old! He would not wear the hat, not even for a second, haha! But, he absolutely loved this dog friendly birthday cake! We cut it up into slices and will be delivering birthday cake slices to all his friends in the neighborhood tomorrow.
You can give this dog friendly birthday cake to your pup as a dessert, or you can even sprinkle leftovers on top of their food. I think John John will be having birthday cake for breakfast tomorrow too!

Ingredients

- Peanut Butter: I use organic peanut butter as the base for this cake because dogs love peanut butter and it's a great treat option. Just be sure you are using organic peanut butter that doesn't have any added sugars, oils, or especially xylitol as that is incredibly toxic to dogs. A little salt in your peanut butter is just fine though.
- Eggs: Organic eggs will bind this dog birthday cake batter together!
- Coconut Milk: I use organic coconut milk in this recipe. Be sure you are using organic coconut milk that is free of added sugars, flavors, and stabilizers. Our favorite is Jiva Organics, with just one ingredient.
- Blueberries: I top this dog birthday cake with fresh organic blueberries which are a delicious dog safe fruit! You can also use another dog friendly fruit like strawberries or bananas as well.
