These doggy donuts are made with dog safe pantry staples. This recipe is quick, easy, and it's so much fun to make! While I top these with plain Greek yogurt as frosting, you could also top with peanut butter as well, especially if you want to let them sit out on a party platter for a dog party!

Ingredients

individual ingredients for pumpkin donuts for dogs laid out against a white background.
  • Coconut Oil: I use organic coconut oil as this is a good fat for dogs.
  • Honey: Use organic raw honey, which adds a little sweetness that is dog safe!
  • Pumpkin: Organic pumpkin is am amazing dog safe ingredient for homemade dog treats. It makes these donuts moist and fluffy.
  • Coconut: Make sure to use organic unsweetened fine shredded coconut here.
  • Coconut Milk: Organic coconut milk is the best milk option for dogs. Just be sure you're using a coconut milk like Jiva Organics that doesn't have any added sweeteners or flavors.
  • Greek Yogurt: Plain organic Greek yogurt is full of probiotics for your pup! They will love this as the frosting to these donuts. Be sure to buy plain Greek yogurt and nothing with any added sugars or flavors. If you can't get plain Greek yogurt, plain yogurt also works.

Baker’s Tips for Pumpkin Donuts for Dogs

  • I use a mini donut pan here because John John is small! You could also use a regular size donut pan if you have a larger dog as well (you'll just need to bake a bit longer).
  • If you don’t have coconut milk, you can also use oat milk as long as the only ingredients are oats and water.
  • I grease the donut pan with just a little coconut oil. But, you could also use an olive oil cooking spray if you have that as it’s also safe for dogs so long as the only ingredient is olive oil.
  • Be sure to use organic plain Greek yogurt. Don’t use any yogurt with flavors or sugars as those are harmful to dogs.
