Ingredients

- Beef: All you need is organic beef to make these Beef Dog Treats. I’m using organic stew meat, as this pre-cut beef is a great option. You can also use fajita strips as these are another pre-sliced beef that works great for this. Stew meat is also a little cheaper than other cuts, making it a great option to buy for your dog so you can do organic! Plus, it’s a little tougher, making it easy to cut into very small pieces, perfect for making small batches of high protein treats!

Tips for Homemade Beef Dog Treats
- I’m using organic stew meat because this is a pre-cut beef. It also is cheaper than other cuts. You can use other cuts such as fajita meat as that is usually cut into strips. If you want to use chuck roast or brisket, you’d need to cut it up beforehand.
- If you are using a stainless steel pan, you may need to add some oil to the pan. Dog safe oils are coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil.
- Depending on your dog’s size, you can cut these organic dog treats into smaller pieces when the beef is cooked like I’m doing here. But, if you have a large dog, you may not need to do this and can leave them in larger pieces.
- You can also apply this same technique to chicken, turkey, or lamb too.

How to Make Homemade Beef Dog Treats

- Put a large skillet over medium heat. Add the stew meat into the skillet.

- Once it’s warm and cook for about 5 minutes or until the beef is done.

- Remove from the heat and cut into smaller pieces (if desired).
How to Serve
You can use these one ingredient dog treats as high reward treats. You can also use these Beef Dog Treats as a food topper for your dog and add it into balanced meals with other ingredients like How to Cook Rice For Dogs, How to Cook Sweet Potatoes for Dogs, and veggies too!
How to Store
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days. If you have a smaller dog you can freeze half of this in a freezer safe bag and then just thaw in the fridge whenever needed.
Recipe FAQ’s
Beef is high in protein and is a high reward treat. So, if you are training your dog or need a treat that will get their attention, this is it!
Yes, fajita meat is another great option for this as that is pre-sliced as well. You can also use chuck roast or brisket, but you’d want to cut into small chunks before cooking.
While dogs can have any cut of beef, I use stew meat for these treats because it's a cheaper cut and a little bit tougher. The tougher cut is great as it can be sliced easily into small pieces so you can get lots of small treats.
Some dogs can be more sensitive to higher fat meats, such as beef. All dogs are different and always introduce new foods slowly. But, beef is a great protein to give your dog in moderation when rotating proteins, which is what we do for John John. While John John can't eat beef every day, as it is too fatty for that, he can do it once in a while which is what we do!
This depends on your dog's size, weight, and activity level. These can be given just as regular treats, replacing whatever treats you usually give your dog. If you want to learn more about how much homemade food to feed your dog, check out How Much Homemade Food Should I Feed My Dog?.
Yes, if they have too much beef it can be too high in fat and cause issues. These are treats and should be fed in moderation. Or you can use this beef as the main protein for a meal if you are cooking homemade dog food.
No, I do not recommend giving your dog raw beef, especially if it was purchased from the grocery store. Gently cooked food is best for dogs, beef included.
No, these are a single ingredient beef treat. You can also use this beef as the protein for your dog's homemade meal. But, you will need to add in some vegetables and carbs too.
