Ingredients & Health Benefits
- Peanut Butter: The base of these homemade dog treats is organic peanut butter. Dogs love it and it's safe in moderation for your dog. Just be sure you are using organic creamy peanut butter (not chunky) as dogs cannot digest whole nuts. Also be sure your peanut butter is free of added sugars, flavors, and xylitol as xylitol is very toxic to dogs.
- Pumpkin: I use organic pumpkin puree. This is a superfood for your dog, providing antioxidants, fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and more! If your dog has pooping issues, pumpkin can really help!
- Eggs: I use organic large eggs, which contain omega-3s and protein. They will also make your dogs skin and coat soft and shiny.
- Honey: I use organic raw honey, which is antimicrobial and antibacterial. It's also a little sweet which is great for treats!
- All Purpose Flour: It's important to use organic all purpose flour whenever feeding wheat to your dog to ensure it's free of GMOs and chemicals.
- Oats: I use organic rolled oats, which provide fiber for your pup.
- Baking Soda: You'll need a little baking soda for leavening.
Tools Needed
- Scale: Always use a digital food scale for the best results.
- Stand Mixer: I use my stand mixer for ease, but you can also use a hand mixer or just a bowl with a spatula too.
- Baking Sheets: You'll need two half sheet pans to bake the cookies.
- Parchment Paper: I use nontoxic parchment paper as I think cookies bake better with it.

FAQ's
Yes! Pumpkin is a super food for your dogs (just like it is for you). Pumpkin can help aid in digestion and it can even help remove excess water from your dogs digestive track, making it a star ingredient if your dog isn't feeling well. It also supports the immune system and eye health. You can include pumpkin in your dogs diet every day.
These Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Cookies are soft and chewy, so they need to be kept in an airtight container so they don't dry out.
Yes! If you have a small dog (like I do) who can't eat a whole batch of cookies in a week, then you can freeze them. You would freeze them just like you freeze human cookies, in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
