Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- No Mayo Tuna Salad: I’m not a huge fan of mayo, so this no mayo tuna salad has been on repeat for me! Avocados are also a much healthier addition to classic tuna salad than mayo.
- Under 10 Minutes: In less than 10 minutes you can be enjoying this fresh tuna salad with bright and vibrant flavors!
- Organic Tuna Salad: I’m using Safe Catch canned tuna as it’s one of the better options out there. While there is no organic canned tuna, you can still purchase Safe Catch for a better and more sustainable canned tuna option. I’m using all organic veggies and other ingredients in this Avocado Tuna Salad!
- Creamy and Healthy: This no mayo tuna salad is rich and creamy, thanks the avocado, and it’s even tastier than the classic!
- Enjoy Many Ways: Enjoy this Avocado Tuna Salad with no mayo on top of toast, eat it alone, or even dip crackers in it for a girl lunch.
- Naturally Gluten Free: This avocado tuna salad is naturally gluten free!
Ingredients

- Tuna: I’m using Safe Catch canned tuna, which is my top choice.
- Avocado: Organic avocados make this an incredibly creamy tuna salad without mayo!
- Cucumber: Adds crunch to this tuna salad.
- Red Onion: I love using red onion in tuna salad for bold flavor.
- EVOO: I also use a little bit of organic extra virgin olive oil because there is no mayo.
- Lemon Juice: You can use a fresh lemon or bottled organic lemon juice, either work. This adds a little acidity and flavor. You could also use lime here as it would pair nice with the fresh cilantro.
- Mustard: I use organic yellow mustard for a little flavor and tang.
- Seeds: I use my favorite Go Raw Organic Sprouted Everything Bagel Pumpkin and Sunflower Seeds as I’m obsessed with these. But, you can also use plain or salted seeds too. The seeds add a little more protein and give it a nice little crunch.

Easy Substitutions
- Feel free to use canned chicken instead of tuna for chicken salad with no mayo!
- You can use avocado oil in place of olive oil if needed, the flavor would also great here!
- Swap cucumbers for celery or bell peppers if that's what you have on hand.
- You can add in 1 to 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds in addition or in place of the pumpkin and sunflower seed mixture.

- Next, add in the olive oil, lemon juice, mustard, and seeds.

- Mix together until combined.

- Enjoy on its own, add onto toast, bread, or use as a dip for crackers.
How to Serve
You can enjoy this no mayo tuna salad all on its own! I even like enjoying it with a side of sweet Garlic Lemon Sweet Potato Fries. You can also top toast (try it on Lemon Rosemary Sourdough Bread), make a bagel sandwich on Homemade Sesame Bagels or Bone Broth Everything Bagels, or even dip your Homemade Sourdough Discard Whole Wheat Crackers in it.
This also makes a great side salad during BBQ season! Serve it alongside Organic Turkey Burgers With Grilled Onions, Chili Lime Ahi Fish Tacos, Real Simple Corn Salad With Avocado, or Avocado Lettuce Wrap Burgers.
Avocado Tuna Salad With No Mayo FAQ’s
You can, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really enjoy the flavor of raw onions. These two onions can be much more strong when raw than red onion, which is why I prefer red onion here.
I wouldn’t recommend it as the avocado can brown. There is lemon juice in here which can help, but it still can happen. I recommend making this and then enjoying afterwards.
If you do have leftovers, you can store in an airtight container in the fridge. I also recommend placing a piece of plastic wrap directly on top of the salad, as this can help with browning if you wan to try that.
