Why You'll Love This Recipe
Holiday Vibes: My friends at Organic Valley sent me some of their seasonal Organic Eggnog and it is delicious! So, I knew I wanted to make Holiday Eggnog Waffles! Adding eggnog to waffles infuses the flavors of Christmas into every bite!
Make Ahead: This recipe can be made ahead of time, I made them the night before, stuck the batter in the fridge (covered it) and then just pulled it out when I turned on the waffle iron. That makes this an incredibly easy recipe to make for Christmas morning!
Light & Fluffy: These Holiday Eggnog Waffles are light and fluffy with eggnog infused into every bite! I served these with maple syrup and some fresh banana slices. You could even add a little sprinkle of cinnamon on top too! Or, feel free to add fresh cranberries if you have them.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, add the flour, cane sugar, sea salt, baking powder, vanilla bean, cloves, and nutmeg and whisk together.
Step 2
In a small saucepan, add the butter and put over medium heat. As soon as the butter is melted, remove from heat.
Step 3
Add the eggnog, eggs, and melted butter to the flour mixture and whisk until a smooth batter forms. This is where you can just cover the bowl with plastic wrap and stick in the fridge for the next morning, or you can make the waffles now. Just let the batter come to room temperature before adding to waffle iron so it can spread out evenly.
Step 4
Preheat your waffle iron and use ½ cup batter per waffle. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes, or follow the directions for your waffle iron.
Step 5
Serve with bananas slices and maple syrup.
FAQ's
You can substitute heavy whipping cream for the eggnog, but you'll miss out on the eggnog flavor! If you don't have eggnog try some of my waffle recipes that don't need it like Homemade Malted Milk Waffles, Eggless Sourdough Waffles, or Eggless Banana Waffles.
Serve with traditional waffle toppings like powdered sugar, butter, maple syrup, banana slices, strawberries, raspberries, or even cranberries for a more festive fruit! I also love adding protein to my meals, so try my Fluffy Scrambled Eggs or Homemade Pork Breakfast Sausage to go along with these.
Yes! As I mentioned above, that's what I did with this recipe when I originally made them. Make the batter the night before, cover it with plastic wrap and store in the fridge. When you preheat your waffle iron, pull out the batter and just cook them up the morning of.
