Tips for Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Street Tacos
- If you don't have a slow cooker, you can do this in a Dutch oven over the stovetop on low.
- I highly recommend crisping up the pork before serving. We like to do this in the air fryer for a few minutes, but a hot cast iron skillet also works!
- Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container and reheat as needed.
How to Make Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Street Tacos

- To make the carnitas: Place the pork butt in a slow cooker. Rub the taco seasoning all over the pork butt.

- Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours, until the pork is tender and shreds easily.

- Shred the pork using two forks. If you want to crisp up the pork before serving you can do that by placing in the air fryer (or heating in a cast iron skillet) for a few minutes to crisp it up (optional but totally worth it!).

- To assemble tacos: Heat the tortillas in a skillet until warm. Top tortillas with pork, onions, green salsa, avocado, cilantro, and squeeze of lime.
Serving Ideas
- Make my Bone Broth Queso Dip for a healthy twist on the classic!
- Serve chips with 3 Ingredient Mango Guacamole for a light and refreshing side.
- Make Organic Homemade Salsa With Fresh Tomatoes and serve with corn chips.
Recipe FAQ's
Yes, since this is a slow cooker recipe and it slow cooks for about 8 hours, it's a great make ahead recipe! You can start this in the morning and then it will be ready for dinner. You can also prep this the day before and then just set up your taco bar the following day if you are hosting a party.
No, if you don't have an actual slow cooker, don't worry, you can still make this recipe! In place of a slow cooker, use a large pot (with a lid), like a Dutch oven, and simmer on low over your stovetop. Make sure to watch this more carefully and check it if you are cooking over the stove.
If you have leftover meat, you can make quesadillas, nachos, or even taco salad! You can definitely use this meat for different Mexican inspired dishes. Try it in place of chicken in Garlic Lime Chicken Taco Salad with Avocado Dressing or make nachos using corn tortillas, Bone Broth Queso Dip, beans, diced onions, salsa, and cilantro!
