I created this Bone Broth Chocolate Milkshake that simply uses bone broth in place of milk. Now, this may sound odd at first, even Delaney was skeptical. But, after he tasted it now my husband loves this organic chocolate milkshake just as much as I do!

I use Kettle and Fire Beef Bone Broth which has a neutral flavor. It’s very adaptable and brings a subtle salty and delicious flavor to recipes and especially to this chocolate milkshake! Like I said, if you love chocolate malt milkshakes, you'll love this healthier take on the nostalgic treat!

Just like Homemade Caramel Sauce with Bone Broth, Organic Brownies with Bone Broth, Chocolate Protein Pudding With Bone Broth, and Bone Broth Queso Dip, you don't taste bone broth, but you do get an added umami salty flavor that just elevates these recipes!

Ingredients

  • Chocolate Ice Cream: You can use your favorite chocolate ice cream. I tested this with both dairy and non dairy chocolate ice cream and it’s so good either way! I used Straus for the traditional ice cream and Cosmic Bliss for the dairy free, which are two of our favorite chocolate ice creams!
  • Bone Broth: I use Kettle and Fire Beef Bone Broth. I love using the beef in recipes like this as it has a very neutral flavor and it’s perfect in this recipe. Use code MIMIBAKESCOOKIES for 20% off your order at Kettle and Fire.
  • Whipped Cream: If you want, you can top this with Homemade Organic Whipped Cream or even Homemade Organic Vegan Whipped Cream for a dairy free option. Totally optional and this is delicious with or without.

Easy Substitutions

  • Use traditional chocolate ice cream or dairy free, I’ve tested this with both.
  • You can use vanilla ice cream if you prefer a vanilla shake, I’ve also tested this!
  • Add whipped cream on top if you want or leave it off.
  • I used Kettle and Fire Beef Bone Broth, but you can use your favorite kind. I would just recommend using a neutral flavored bone broth, like plain beef or chicken, and not a flavored one (such as turmeric ginger).
  • If you don't have bone broth, feel free to use milk and you'll just have a delicious chocolate milkshake. You can even use nondairy milk like coconut milk, almond or oat.
