Recipe FAQ’s
Limeade is made with lime juice and lemonade is made with lemon juice. They are interchangeable, so if you want to make this strawberry lemonade, you can just use lemon juice in place of the lime juice.
Yes, homemade strawberry limeade is generally much healthier than most sodas, especially when you make it with real organic strawberries, fresh lime juice, and control the sweetener yourself. Most store bought sodas have high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, or artificial dyes and flavors, which you can easily avoid in this homemade drink. Plus, a typical soda can have around 35–45g of added sugar and this only has 17g.
Yes! As long as the only ingredient is lime juice, then you’re good as you don't want added sugar since we're adding that. I have tested this with the Santa Cruz Organic Lime Juice.
Yes, you can use frozen strawberries for ease. Just thaw them in the fridge for 24 hours and then strain off excess moisture before using.
Yes, you can make this without refined sugar. You can skip the simple syrup step and add in honey or maple syrup to taste. You could also add in a liquid stevia, NuNaturals makes an organic liquid stevia that works really well. Just adjust these natural sweeteners to taste.
Yes, just add in sparkling water when you fill the pitcher instead of plain water.
Yes, feel free to add vodka or tequila for an easy cocktail. You could also pair this with coconut rum for tropical vibes. Use prosecco for a sparkling strawberry limeade spritz or rosé wine for a cocktail perfect for brunching.
I really love mint and basil with strawberry limeade for a refreshing summer addition. You could also use rosemary or thyme for a little more savory option.
Yes, I recommend freezing the strawberry limeade in ice cube trays first. Then, blend with a little splash of coconut milk to create a delicious slushy! Freezing the ice cubes first allow you to blend this into a frozen drink without watering it down.
Yes, it's great to make ahead of time! Feel free to make a day or two in advance of your party.
Store in a pitcher in your fridge for up to 7 days.
Strawberry limeade will last in the fridge for up to a week.
