My Homemade Lemonade is something I've been making all summer long, it is so good! Literally when we're out and Delaney opens the fridge, he gets sad because the pitcher is not in there! So, when we came home with a bunch of fresh lemons and oranges from our Petaluma trip, I thought I would make a Homemade Orangeade because I had so many oranges.
This is just like my Homemade Lemonade recipe, but instead I use oranges. This light and sweet orange drink is perfect on hot day over ice. Or you can use it as a mixer for cocktails as well.

Health Benefits of Oranges
Oranges are a powerhouse of nutrition! Rich in vitamin C, they play a crucial role in boosting the immune system, protecting against colds, and promoting healthy skin by aiding collagen production. Oranges also contain a variety of antioxidants, such as flavonoids, which help combat oxidative stress and reduce inflammation, lowering the risk of chronic diseases. The dietary fiber in oranges supports digestive health, regulates blood sugar levels, and aids in maintaining a healthy weight. Additionally, the high potassium content in oranges contributes to heart health by helping to control blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular diseases. With their hydrating properties and a wealth of essential nutrients, incorporating oranges into your diet can enhance overall health and well-being.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
In a small saucepan, add Β½ cup of water and the cane sugar. Put over medium heat and stir with a spatula or whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Step 2
Juice the oranges and add the orange juice and simple syrup into a large pitcher. Add in the remaining 5 cups of water and stir to combine completely.
Step 3
Slice the additional orange, and place slices in the pitcher or in the glasses for serving.
Tips
- All fresh oranges will taste a little different. Some may be sweeter, some may be more tart, it just depends on the oranges and where you got them. If you have really sweet oranges, you may need to add more water to this, and if you have oranges that are less sweet you may need less water. So, I'd advise starting with the 4 cups, tasting a little spoonful and then adding the last 1 cup, then tasting, and then if you need more water for you likeness, go in Β½ cup increments until you get the amount of sweetness you desire. This is also a great recipe to make with oranges that are not sweet enough to eat!
- I use organic cane sugar in this recipe. I highly recommend using organic cane sugar here as it is not as sweet as conventional granulated white sugar and I think it makes for a much better tasting and healthier drink.
- I like to add fresh orange slices into the pitcher and the glasses for serving. This is optional, but I feel like adding this to the pitcher enhances the flavor over the few days that it may sit in the fridge.
