Ingredients

- Chicken: I use organic chicken breasts, which are a lean meat and great for a kabob like this as they will grill up tender and juicy.
- Spices: I use a simple mix of garlic powder and dried oregano for Greek flavors.
- Grape Tomatoes: I use organic grape tomatoes as they small and easy to skewer. These are a better option than cherty tomatoes in my opinion as cherry tomatoes are sweeter.
- Tzatziki Sauce: I prefer to make homemade Organic Tzatziki Sauce with Fresh Dill, but you can use store bought as well.

Tips for Grilled Chicken Shish Kabobs With Tzatziki Sauce
- Use chicken breasts, these are the best for kabobs as they are plump, lean meat that will result in juicy and tender bites.
- I use grape tomatoes as opposed to cherry tomatoes as grape tomatoes have a thicker skin and lower water content. This makes them ideal for grilling.
- I prefer to make homemade Organic Tzatziki Sauce with Fresh Dill, but you can use store bought as well.
- You can also serve this Lemon Rosemary Sourdough Bread for a more complete meal.
How to Make Grilled Greek Chicken Shish Kabobs With Tzatziki Sauce

- In a small dish, mix together the salt, pepper, oregano, and garlic powder. Set aside. Cut the zucchini into 1-inch thick slices and cut in half, set aside. Cut the onion into 1 to 2-inch pieces.

- Cut the chicken into 2-inch cubes. Skewer the chicken, zucchini, onion, and tomatoes, alternating each. Place on a platter.

- Using a pastry brush, brush the skewers with the olive oil and sprinkle the spice mix on top and rotate to season each side. Squeeze lemon juice over the tops.

- Heat grill to high, about 350°F to 400°F. Place kabobs on the grill and cover. Cook for about 3 minutes, rotate, and continue to do that until all sides have been grilled. Heat until internal temperature is 165°F. (Alternatively if you’re not grilling, preheat the oven to 400°F. Heat a cast iron skillet to medium/high. Add kabobs and sear each side. Transfer to the oven and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until internal temperature is 165°F.)
Recipe FAQ's
Yes! If you prefer to use steak you could use that instead. I would use a flank steak or skirt steak for this recipe and it would be delicious!
If you want you can, the ones I chose are more traditional in Greek cooking. But, you could substitute for yellow squash, bell peppers, white or yellow onion too!
Serving Suggestions
- Pair these with raw veggies like carrots, cucumber, or bell pepper (perfect for dipping in the tzatziki!)
- Make it into a more filling meal with Lemon Herb French Fries, Garlic Lemon Sweet Potato Fries, or Bone Broth Mashed Potatoes
- Grill up Turkey and Lamb Burgers With Dill Sauce, Organic Turkey Burgers With Grilled Onions, or Avocado Lettuce Wrap Burgers for another main dish if you're hosting a BBQ
- If you're hosting a party, add Greek Beef and Lamb Kafta Kabobs as a beef option that also sticks with the Greek theme
