I eat organic butter every single morning for breakfast, either on toast or a bagel. Toast is my absolute favorite breakfast food and I am always looking for ways to make it healthier!

This Blueberry Butter Spread is an easy way to add extra nutrients to my favorite breakfast. While I always prefer this Blueberry Butter Spread on toast or a bagel, you can also enjoy this on top of waffles, pancakes, French toast, scones, croissants, and more!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

2 Ingredients: This organic butter only has 2 ingredients, butter and wild blueberry powder.

Light and Fruity: While this organic butter is far from the classic, it’s light and fruity with the addition of wild blueberry powder. If you like my Strawberry Cream Cheese, then you’ll also love this fruity toast and bagel topping!

Healthy Benefits: Wild blueberry powder adds antioxidants to organic butter so you can have that extra boost of nutrients while enjoying your morning toast.

Ingredients

  • Butter: I use Organic Valley Salted Butter, you can use your favorite. I prefer salted butter (always haha) but especially here as it balances out the sweetness from the blueberries.
  • Wild Blueberry Powder: Organic wild blueberry powder provides antioxidants and a vibrant blueberry color with minimal effort!

Tools Needed

  • Mixing Bowl: You’ll need a mixing bowl to mix up the organic butter and blueberry powder.
  • Spatula: I use a spatula to mix everything together, but you can also use a hand mixer if you prefer.

Tips

  • I always use salted butter, if you’re using unsalted, just give it a taste to see if you want to add a pinch of salt.
  • You can use another fruit powder and make strawberry, or raspberry butter, for example!
  • Be sure to store in an airtight container in the fridge.

How to Use

Use this Blueberry Butter Spread as a spread for toast and bagels. Add on top of pancakes, waffles, or scones. Or you can even use this as the butter for buttercream frosting or cookies!

How to Store

Be sure to store in an airtight container or butter dish. If you’re going to eat this organic butter within a few days, you can leave it out on the counter, just like regular butter. But, otherwise, I recommend storing in the fridge for up to a week.

FAQ’s

Can I use unsalted butter?

Yes, just give it a little taste to see if you want to add salt. If so, I recommend adding 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

Can I use fresh blueberries?

I have not tested this with fresh blueberries, but it would not have the same flavor or consistency as you’d need a lot of blueberries for flavor and fresh blueberries have a lot of water which wouldn’t be ideal.
