Step 1
Peel the sweet potato using a peeler. It’s important to peel the sweet potato because the skin can is not good for dogs like it is for us.

Cut the sweet potato into ¼-inch thick strips. Place in a large bowl of cold water and soak for 10 to 15 minutes, until the water looks murky.
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3
Drain the potatoes and add the melted coconut oil to the bowl and mix it up to coat the potatoes completely.
Step 4
Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and spread them out evenly. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the fries and flip them. Bake for another 10 to 20 minutes or so until they are lightly golden brown.
Step 5
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with nutritional yeast and allow to cool. If you’re sharing with your pup, remove their portion and you can add salt and pepper to your portion.
Make sure to cut fries into small pieces if you have a smaller dog so they don’t choke.

FAQ’s
While the skin on sweet potatoes has fiber and antioxidants for you, it can be difficult for your dog to digest and it can cause upset stomach. So, it’s best to remove the skin for your dog.
If you have a large dog, they can probably enjoy single fries as a treat. But, if you have a smaller dog then be sure to break them into small pieces so they don’t choke. If you are serving these as part of meal, then chop them into small pieces and add into food.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 dys.
