This recipe for Dog Friendly Sweet Potato Fries is a delicious and healthy snack for your pup that you can share together! Treat yourself and your dog to a tasty snack with this recipe.
Peel the sweet potato using a peeler. It’s important to peel the sweet potato because the skin can is not good for dogs like it is for us.
Cut the sweet potato into ¼-inch thick strips. Place in a large bowl of cold water and soak for 10 to 15 minutes, until the water looks murky.
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Drain the water and spread the fries out onto the baking sheet. Add the melted coconut oil and coat them completely.
Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the fries and flip them. Bake for another 10 to 20 minutes or so until they are lightly golden brown.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with nutritional yeast and allow to cool. If you’re sharing with your pup, remove their portion and you can add salt and pepper to your portion.
Make sure to cut fries into small pieces if you have a smaller dog so they don’t choke.

Sweet potatoes are a wonderful carb for dogs that they love! You can use Russet potatoes as well, they just aren't as nutritious.
You can use extra virgin olive oil in place of coconut oil if you prefer.
Add salt and pepper to your portion after baking, ensuring you don't get any on your dogs!
Enjoy as dog treats or chop up and add to homemade dog food!
