Today I am sharing this simple recipe for Snickerdoodle Donut Holes, that are made in your air fryer! Ever since we got an air fryer, Delaney has asked me to make donuts in it. So, I have been wanting to figure out how to make donut holes in your air fryer. And this last week I finally had time to dive into this project!
I decided to make Snickerdoodle Donut Holes because they remind me of a cinnamon and sugar donut hole that I used to eat as a kid from Dunkin’ Donuts. So, if you know and like those, then you will love these Snickerdoodle Donut Holes!
So, I decided to make a cinnamon and sugar donut hole like these. But, I’m calling mine Snickerdoodle Donut Holes. These are yeast donut holes, which means they are made with yeast, so they will rise and puff up.
I start out with a simple dough recipe and it only needs one rise. Then I form them into small little balls and oil them up for the air fryer. I recently was given the new De’Longhi Air Fryer from my friends at De’Longhi, so I made these yeast donut holes in this De’Longhi Air Fryer.
I drop the yeast donut holes into the air fryer basket and they cook for only about 10 minutes. After that, I dip them in melted butter, then roll them in cinnamon and sugar. And you have warm and delicious Snickerdoodle Donut Holes!

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
To make the dough: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, add the yeast, ½ teaspoon cane sugar, and warm water. Stir to combine and let sit for 5 minutes, until bubbly.
Step 2
In a small pot over medium heat, add the butter, milk, and honey. Stir until completely melted, remove from heat.
Add the flour, remaining 2 tablespoons cane sugar, and sea salt to the mixing bowl in that order. Add the milk mixture and knead on speed 2 to 4 for 5 minutes.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, and cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let rise for 2 to 3 hours, until doubled in size.
Step 3
Using a scale, divide the dough into 16 balls, they should weigh about 28 grams each. Form the dough into balls with a smooth top by pulling the dough from the top to the bottom.
Step 4
Using a pastry brush, brush the dough balls with coconut oil. Add to air fryer basket and air fry at 450°F for 10 to 12 minutes, until the tops are golden brown.
Step 5
To make the topping: In a small bowl, add the cane sugar and cinnamon and swirl together. Dip each donut hole in the melted butter, then roll it in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
