- Cocoa Powder: I use organic Dutch cocoa powder.

- Whipped Cream: This is optional, but you can top this with my homemade Organic Whipped Cream.
Tools Needed
- Scale: You can use a digital food scale or measuring cups for this recipe.
- Small Pot: I use a 1.75-quart pot to heat the cocoa.
- Whisk: You’ll need a whisk to whisk the cocoa while it heats.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
In a small pot, add the bone broth, maple syrup, cocoa powder, and gingerbread spice mix and put over high heat.
Step 2
Whisk until the cocoa has dissolved and the temperature is between 140°F and 160°F or until the cocoa has completely melted and it's hot to your liking.
Step 3
Top with whipped cream (optional). Serve immediately.

- If you want to use milk in place of bone broth, you can!

I use my Homemade Gingerbread Spice Mix because I’m only using a 1/2 teaspoon total so it’s difficult to get the right ratio of all the spices with this small of an amount. My Gingerbread Spice Mix is made up of equal parts cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. So, you can do a scant 1/4 teaspoon of each.
