Festive and Simple: I love recipes that are simple but festive and this recipe is both. It doesn't take much effort to make these organic animal crackers all dressed up for the holidays.

Ingredients
- Animal Crackers: I'm using Kirkland Organic Animal Crackers, but any plain animal crackers you like will work.
- Milk Chocolate: I use Mama Ganache Organic Milk Chocolate, which is great for melting. You can also use a milk chocolate bar, just chop it up into small pieces so it melts easily.
- Peppermint Extract: This makes the milk chocolate cool and minty, perfect for a holiday treat.
- Festive Sprinkles: I use ColorKitchen Foods Tree Sprinkles which are made using plant based dyes.
Tools Needed
- Scale: Always use a digital food scale for the best results, it's also much easier to weigh the chocolate here.
- Heatproof Mixing Bowl: You'll need a heatproof mixing bowl to melt the chocolate.
- Baking Sheet: You'll need one half sheet pan to place all the dipped animal crackers.
- Parchment Paper: I always use nontoxic parchment paper whenever dipping or coating things in chocolate. This ensures that the animal crackers don't stick to the sheet pan.

These do not have to be refrigerated, but since I don’t temper the chocolate in this recipe, I do like to keep them in the fridge. This is only so the chocolate doesn’t sweat.
