Instructions
In a small saucepan, add the cane sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Put over medium heat and stir with a spatula or whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Juice the grapefruits and add the grapefruit juice and simple syrup into a large pitcher. Add in the remaining 5 cups of water and stir to combine completely.
Slice the additional grapefruit, and place slices in the pitcher or in the glasses for serving.

Tips
I use about 2 to 3 large grapefruits, but you may need more or less depending on the size.
You can also use a mix of any citrus for this recipe, if you want to use a mix of grapefruit and lemon or grapefruit and orange juice that would also be delicious.
