Homemade Pink Grapefruit Juice

Ingredients
 
 

  • 113 grams cane sugar
  • 5 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/4 cups grapefruit juice (about 2 to 3 large grapefruits)
  • 1 grapefruit (for serving)

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, add the cane sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Put over medium heat and stir with a spatula or whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
  • Juice the grapefruits and add the grapefruit juice and simple syrup into a large pitcher. Add in the remaining 5 cups of water and stir to combine completely.
  • Slice the additional grapefruit, and place slices in the pitcher or in the glasses for serving.

Tips
  • I use about 2 to 3 large grapefruits, but you may need more or less depending on the size.
  • You can also use a mix of any citrus for this recipe, if you want to use a mix of grapefruit and lemon or grapefruit and orange juice that would also be delicious.
  • Store in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Enjoy on its own or use as a mixer for cocktails or as the liquid in smoothies! Try it in the Bone Broth Tropical Protein Smoothie, Tropical Cranberry Smoothie, or in the Lemon Blueberry Smoothie.
