Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Waffle Iron

Ingredients

  • 1 large banana
  • 113 grams pumpkin puree
  • 32 grams peanut butter
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • 75 grams coconut oil (melted)
  • 15 grams raw honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 127 grams all purpose flour
  • 28 grams oat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, mash up the banana.
  • Add the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, coconut milk, melted coconut oil, honey, and egg to the bowl with the banana and stir to combine the wet ingredients.
  • Add in the flour, oat flour, and baking powder and stir to combine into thick batter.
  • Preheat your waffle iron to the desired setting, I used setting 3 on the waffle iron I listed above. I used a 1/3 measuring cup to measure batter directly into the center of the waffle iron. You can go larger and fill the whole iron if you want larger waffles, totally up to you!
  • Serve with apples, banana slices, strawberries, blueberries, or peanut butter. Give to your dog as treats, a food topper or as part of a meal. Be sure to cut into small pieces so you dog and easily eat and enjoy!
  • Store waffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Tips
  • This recipe is super flexible, mix it up in one bowl or use a hand mixer or stand mixer.
  • Make sure to use dog safe peanut butter. Use creamy peanut butter with only peanuts and salt. Avoid all other ingredients such as added sugars, flavors, and especially xylitol as it's incredibly toxic for dogs.
  • I top these with apples as apple is John John's favorite fruit! But, you can also top these with bananas, blueberries, or strawberries!
  • These are freezer friendly, just store in an airtight container in the freezer!
