Add ½ cup of water and the cane sugar into a small pot and put over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and add to a blender.
Add raspberries and lemon juice to the blender and blend until smooth.
Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and transfer to a pitcher.
Add the remaining 4 ½ cups of water and stir to combine. Serve over ice.

Tips
You can use fresh or frozen raspberries, either works. If using frozen, thaw in the fridge overnight and strain off excess water. Then they are ready to use!
You can juice fresh lemons or use lemon juice from a bottle, either works.
Feel free to adjust the sugar if you want less sugar.
You can make a sugar free version by skipping the simple syrup step and just adding in the water to the lemon and raspberry juice. Then add in your favorite organic stevia to taste!
Make a sparkling option by using sparkling water instead of still when filling up the pitcher with the remaining water.
Make these into popsicles by pouring into popsicle molds and freezing overnight.
