Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup buttermilk powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill weed

Instructions

  • In a small dish, add the buttermilk powder, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, chives, nutritional yeast, pepper, fine sea salt, and dill weed. Mix together.
  • Store in an airtight container in the pantry for up to 3 months.
  • To make Ranch salad dressing: Add ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup buttermilk (or whole milk), and 1 tablespoon homemade organic Ranch Seasoning Mix to a bowl and mix together. Store in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight before using as I think the flavor is much better when it has time to marinate.
  • To make Ranch dip: Add 1 cup organic sour cream and 1 tablespoon of homemade organic Ranch Seasoning Mix to a bowl and mix together. Store in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving, as I think the flavor is much better when it has time to marinate a bit.

Notes

Tips
  • Mix well to ensure that everything is combined.
  • If you are vegan or dairy free, you can swap the buttermilk powder for a coconut milk powder. This will be similar, but not exactly the same. I like adding a pinch more nutritional yeast when making this vegan for a bit more flavor.
  • 2 tablespoon of homemade ranch seasoning mix will equal about 1 packet of store bought.
  • Store homemade ranch seasoning mix in a spice jar (or airtight container) in your pantry for up to 6 months.
  • Make "healthy Ranch dressing" by adding this mix to EVOO for a ranch dressing that is healthy and not creamy!
