Add protein and umami flavor to simple rice for a flavorful side dish that goes with any meal. Just by replacing traditional water with bone broth, you can make this Easy Bone Broth Rice!
Wash the rice by running it under cold water until the water runs clean and is not cloudy.
Add the rice into a 2-quart pot and add the bone broth. Put over high heat until the bone broth begins to boil.
Cover and reduce the heat to a simmer and continue to cook for about 15 to 25 minutes or until the broth has absorbed and the rice is tender.
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Tips
I wash my rice before cooking it. Delaney grew up on Maui, so rice is to him what corn is to me: sacred. And, he has taught me that washing your rice makes better rice. But, if you don’t want to wash your rice, you can skip this step.
I use a 2 to 1 ratio of bone broth to rice (just like if you were making rice with water). You can use this ratio to make more or less of this recipe easily.
I use Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth in this recipe because the beef has a more neutral flavor than their chicken (I think). So, I like using this one because then i can serve this with any meal and it works. You can also use flavored bone broths like turmeric ginger, mushroom, or others depending on what kind of dish you're serving it with.
If you don't have bone broth, chicken stock or veggie stock also will give you great flavor. It just won't provide the protein that bone broth does.
Make sure you watch the rice so it doesn’t boil over at first.
Set a timer so you don’t burn it or dry it out.
If you want to make this recipe in a rice cooker, you can totally do that! My favorite nontoxic rice cook is from Our Place!
High Altitude — Follow the recipe as noted. Rice may take a little longer at high altitude as water boils at a lower temperature, so anything cooked on the stovetop will always be a bit slow. Make sure to look for visual signs your rice is done (and taste it!).
