Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¾ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon marjoram
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 1 cup sliced mini sweet bell peppers (about 8 mini peppers)
  • 1 head butter lettuce
  • 2 scallions (sliced)

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, season the pork with the Chinese Five Spice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and marjoram. Mix with your hands to combine completely. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, add the ghee, yellow onion, and peppers. Sauté over medium/high heat, for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add in the ground pork. Continue to cook on medium until the pork is browned, and fully cooked, about 10 minutes. Turn heat to high and brown for another 3 to 5 minutes.
  • To serve, place lettuce cups on a serving board. Add the pork into lettuce cups and top with scallions.

Tips
  • While I'm using ground pork here, you can also use ground beef or ground turkey if you prefer.
  • You can use regular bell peppers if you can't find minis, just choose red, yellow, or orange to get the sweeter flavor.
  • If meal prepping or have leftovers, store meat and lettuce separately. This ensures you have crisp lettuce when you reheat.
