Equipment

  • Digital Food Scale
  • Small Pot
  • Whisk
  • Juicer
  • Pitcher

Ingredients

  • 113 grams cane sugar
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cup lemon juice (from fresh lemons or a bottle)
  • ½ cup blood orange juice (about 6 blood oranges)

Instructions

  • In a small pot, add the cane sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Put over medium heat and whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from the heat.
  • Juice the lemons and blood oranges until you have 1 cup of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of blood orange juice.
  • Add the simple syrup, blood orange juice, and lemon juice to a pitcher. Pour the remaining 4 1/2 cups of water and give it a little stir.
  • I like to add in lemon slices or you could also do blood orange slices, but this part is totally optional.
  • Serve over ice.

Notes

Tips
  • You can use regular oranges if you like, but the flavor will be a bit sweeter.
  • You can use lemon juice from a bottle or real lemons, either works!
  • Feel free to adjust the sugar if you want it less sweet.
  • Serve with fresh lemon or blood orange slices as a garnish (optional!).
