Ingredients & Health Benefits
- Chickpeas: Organic chickpeas are the base of hummus! Chickpeas have protein, fiber, iron, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin B, they are so nutrient dense making them a great snacking option.
- EVOO: Organic extra virgin olive oil is a heart healthy fat and used in hummus to get the right consistency so its spreadable and creamy.
- Honey: I use organic raw honey for a little sweetness. Honey is antimicrobial and antibacterial.
- Peanut Butter: Use organic creamy peanut butter, my favorite is Costco!
- Garlic: I use fresh minced garlic. But, you can use cloves and mince them yourself or grab them from the jar. Either works. Organic garlic is anti inflammatory and brings loads of flavor to this organic hummus.
- Thai Spice: I use FreshJax Organic Thai Spice, which I love because it makes this organic hummus really easy with just one spice that has big, bold flavor. This spice mix includes organic paprika, coriander, sea salt, cumin, garlic, turmeric, cracked black pepper, fenugreek, galangal, cardamom, ginger, yellow mustard, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon. So much easier than mixing in all these spices individually.
- Peanuts: I use organic roasted and salted peanuts for topping, this is optional!
Tools Needed
- Measuring Cups and Spoons: I just use measuring cups and spoons for this organic hummus as you don't need to use a scale with a more freeform recipe like this.
- Food Processor: You'll need a food processor to process the hummus into the desired consistency.
