Holiday baking is going to be here before you know it! And it is the season of giving, and giving desserts are the best gift, in my opinion. But, that means that you'll be going through more flour and sugar than usual. So, today I wanted to share some websites and tips for purchasing things in bulk for baking. Learn how to order in bulk for baking this holiday season!

Spices & Flavors

The first place I want to share with you is Frontier Co-Op. If you read the blog frequently, then you've heard me mention this brand before as it's one of my favorites. Frontier Co-Op is the home of all my favorite spices – cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom… And they have all these spices in bulk so you can buy 1 pound bags for the ones you use frequently and fill your own spice jars, like I do.

They have my absolute favorite organic peppermint flavor, which I use every Christmas. They have the best sea salt to use for cooking and baking. And, they also own the brand Simply Organic which makes my absolute favorite organic vanilla extract. The best thing about Frontier is they are a co-op, so anyone can sign up and join! You can all have access to discounts on their website just by becoming a member. You can sign up here.

Chocolate

The next place I want to share with you is Mama Ganache Chocolates. This is another place I have been purchasing from for many years even before the my bake shop even opened. I've seen this company go through different owners and their products have stayed consistent and amazing. I purchase dark, milk, and white chocolate from them. I also highly recommend their cocoa powder. They have a bulk section on their website here. And while you're shopping, pick up some candy for yourself as they make amazing candies!

Bulk Ingredients & Candies

Have you heard of Nuts.com? I shop here all the time! Not only do they have an amazing selection of organic items, but they do have fair pricing and you can buy in bulk. This was where I my favorite organic mini chocolate chips and dark chocolate chips. And now they even offer things like organic flour, oats, and more. Plus they have organic candy like chocolate covered raisins and almonds, because you need snacks when you're baking too. And, they usually ship for free and it always arrives fast! I still buy some things from Nuts.com including organic Hunza Raisins and organic raw peanuts for when I make Honey Roasted Peanuts or trail mix from The Mountain Baker.

Sugar

Wholesome Sweetners has a web store! You can shop my favorite sugar brand here. Everything from the best organic corn syrup, blackstrap molasses, cane sugar, powdered sugar, dark brown sugar, honey and more. You can buy a small bag like you would at the grocery store or you can buy in bulk. They sell 50 pound bags of certain things like cane sugar and powdered sugar, which if you're doing a lot of baking then 50 pounds of cane sugar might go much quicker than you think.

Shop Local

Last, I challenge you to ask your local health food store if they'd give you a discount if you bought multiple items. When I lived in Huntington Beach, I shopped at Mother's Market all the time. And when I was constantly buying all the Wholesome Sweetners sugar they had in stock, I asked if they did any bulk discounts. Turns out they did! When you bought a case you'd get a discount. This is a great way to support your local health food store, and stock up at the same time!
