This homemade mask uses yogurt as a base, which can help brighten the skin by reducing the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation. 3 Ingredients: Why buy an expensive mask when you can easily make this Homemade Turmeric Face Mask for Glowing Skin at home! This simple homemade face mask only has three ingredients!
Natural Exfoliant: I have sensitive skin, so even organic and natural store bought exfoliants like salicylic acid can irritate my skin. But yogurt contains lactic acid, which is a natural exfoliant! So, instead of buying expensive products, I use this yogurt mask as my exfoliant.
Anti-inflammatory: Turmeric is anti-inflammatory, if you eat it and if you use it on your skin! I use organic ground turmeric root powder, which is even better than ground turmeric as this is a

Ingredients
Organic Greek Yogurt: Make sure to use a Greek yogurt that is really thick. Some are thicker than others. I have been using Nancy’s Organic Plain Greek Yogurt and I like it! Also, be sure to use a plain flavor, one that doesn’t have any added sugars or flavors.
Manuka Honey: Manuka honey is a little bit different than organic raw honey you buy for eating and baking. You can eat Manuka honey, but this one is also really great for skin care because of its high antioxidant properties. When looking for a Manuka honey you will see a number on the front, this is the UMF number. The higher the UMF rating, the more antibacterial activity that Manuka honey has. This number can range anywhere from 5+ to 24+ or maybe even more? That’s the highest I’ve seen! I use a Manuka honey with UMF of 24+ and the one I use can be found here. I would recommend at least getting a 15+ if you are planning to use it for skincare. Regular organic honey will work too and is safe to put on your face, it just doesn’t have the same healing properties as Manuka honey.
Organic Ground Turmeric Root: My favorite brand is Frontier Co-Op, it’s what I use for cooking and this sone is also great to use on your face!
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
In a small dish, mix together the Greek yogurt, manuka honey, and turmeric.
Step 2
Using your hand, paint onto your face and cover with an even layer. Allow to sit for 15 minutes or basically until it dries. Then rise it off with warm water and a gentle cleanser.

Tips
- Use a plain Greek yogurt. Don’t use a yogurt with added sugars, flavors, or fruit pieces.
- I use a Manuka honey with a UMF rating of 24+. The higher the UMF, the more antibacterial properties it has. You can use any Manuka honey you like and you can also use regular organic raw honey if you want too.
- This amount of mask will usually last me about a week. Because it’s made with fresh ingredients, just like food, don’t keep leftovers for more than a week!
- I use this each morning before I shower. I just rinse it off with warm water in the shower and then wash my face.
- Turmeric can stain your skin. If you have very fair skin, you may notice it stain your skin slightly. Because of this, I recommend doing this mask right before you shower so you can run your face under water easily and get everything off. Just taking it off with a wipe or washcloth may not get it all!
- Be careful as the turmeric can stain your clothes! It’s a natural dye!
