Why You'll Love This Recipe

Summertime is for drinking cold drinks – at all times! If you have had an Italian soda, then you know they are an amazing cold and sweet drink that is a real treat. They are fizzy and bubbly and if you're lucky they were topped with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

But what is an Italian soda? An Italian soda is made of carbonated water and flavored syrup. And sometimes a little bit of cream is added to it, as well as whipped cream on top. This is a drink that looks super fancy, but it is so easy to make!

You can use flavored syrup if you like, and if you are looking for organic flavored syrups, then my favorite place to buy them is Nature's Flavors. They have tons and tons of organic flavors, extracts, and syrups. Just be sure to look for the organic options, as they also make conventional products too.

But, you don't need to have a flavored syrup to make a homemade Italian soda. You can simply use fresh fruit! All you have to do is muddle up the fruit for a sweetened fruity Italian soda. And since it's strawberry season right now, strawberries are super flavorful.

So, I made a homemade Strawberry Italian Soda. I used my favorite carbonated water, Nixie, as it has a little flavor in it too. I added a splash of Organic Valley Sweet Cream Creamer and then I topped it with my Homemade Whipped Cream and a cherry on top. This is a super easy summer drink that you'll want to make again and again! You can switch it up with other kinds of fruit such as blackberries, raspberries, mulberries or more. Or you can buy an organic flavored syrup and create your own crazy flavors.

Why organic?

Why use organic ingredients in this recipe? You all know I’m a huge organic advocate, and I bet you may be thinking sometimes, Why would I even bother to use organic ingredients in something that is so sweet and indulgent? But, that is the exact reason why you should use organic ingredients! Sweet things need to have flavor in order to be good, otherwise they are just sweet and they don’t taste like much else. Organic ingredients are more pure than conventional ones, therefore they actually have more flavor than the non organic options. Say it with me, organic means more flavor! And not just more flavor but a more true and pure flavor. And organic ingredients are much healthier for you to eat in general as they do not contain GMOs or anything artificial. Plus, you are being environmentally friendly when you choose organic ingredients!

So, I highly recommend that you buy the best organic ingredients for this recipe! You can also shop my Amazon Storefront for all my favorite organic ingredients here.
