How to Make Easy Bratwurst Kabobs

Step 1

Cut each bratwurst into 8 slices. Set aside.

Cut mini peppers in half and remove seeds. Cut the onion in quarters, reserving the large pieces.

Step 2

To make the kabobs: Using 10-inch skewers, start with a pepper, add onion, brat, mushroom, and pepper. Repeat until all the brats and veggies have been skewered. You should have 4 pieces of bratwurst per kabob and about 8 kabobs total.

Using a pastry brush, brush olive oil on the kabobs, making sure to rotate to brush each side. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and rotate to season each side.

Step 3

Heat grill to high, about 350°F to 400°F. Place kabobs on the grill and cover. Cook for about 3 minutes, rotate, and continue to do that until all sides have been grilled. Heat until golden brown and veggies are cooked.

FAQ's

Can I use another kind of meat?

Yes! If you want to use a fully cooked chicken sausage or Italian sausage, those would also be delicious with this! If you are using raw meat, you may just need to cook these a bit longer to ensure meat is fully cooked.

What can I serve this with?

I love making these in the summer on the grill, so fresh fruit is always something I love serving this with. But, other delicious sides that would pair well are my Real Simple Corn Salad or Kale Apple Salad and try my Blueberry Honey Crumble Pie or Apple Cinnamon Strawberry Pie for dessert!

Why go organic?

You may be wondering why I push organic ingredients for everything, even savory and healthy dishes. Organic ingredients go beyond just health and wellness, and contribute so much to the taste and flavor of a recipe. So, if you think that you're making something healthy and buying fruits, veggies, or meats so maybe you don't need to spend the extra to go organic here – let me sway your thinking.

Organic ingredients are made in a more pure way, therefore using no additives, no GMOs, and minimal ingredients. This really allows the true ingredients to shine – and because of that their flavor shines through. Therefore, organic ingredients are more flavorful than their non organic counterparts. So, just because it's already a healthy recipe, or you're already buying good for you ingredients – it doesn't mean you can skip organic! Trust me here, and make the switch. Your body and your taste buds will thank you!

So, I highly recommend that you buy the best organic ingredients for this recipe! You can also shop my Amazon Storefront for all my favorite organic ingredients here.
