Ingredients for DIY Holiday Cookie Boxes

You can use any kind of cookies or holiday treats that you want when you make your own DIY Holiday Cookie Boxes. But, I'm linking the exact things that I used here!

White Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels
Iced Oatmeal Shortbread Cookies
Christmas Sandwich Cookies
Chocolate Chip Biscotti

Whip up a batch of each cookie recipe above, purchase some bakery boxes, and get some festive ribbons, different colors or patterns of your choice. Once the cookies are made, all you have to do is box them up and tie with a ribbon. Plus, you should have some extra cookies for you to snack on while you do this!

By making each recipe listed above, you’ll get four boxes of cookies to gift. You can double or even triple the recipes to get more boxes so you can gift to everyone on your Christmas list. I have a full checklist on how to make your own DIY Cookie Boxes below!

How to Make DIY Holiday Cookie Boxes

Step 1: Buy bakery boxes, you can purchase the ones I have here.

Step 2: Make sure to have parchment paper on hand, you’ll want to cut small rectangles to fit into the bottom of the box. This will help absorb all the grease so if your cookie boxes sit for a few hours or even a day or two, the grease won’t seep into the boxes and look bad.

Step 3: Buy tape and pretty Christmas ribbons. You can use any kind you like! This year I chose a white and black stripe ribbon that I’m obsessed with.

Step 4: Make the cookies, let them cool, set, etc. I like to do this the day before, especially for the Iced Maple Oatmeal Cookies and the White Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels, they do have to set.

Step 5: Assemble your bakery boxes.

Step 6: Line them with parchment paper.

Step 7: Fill them with cookies! You can do this any which way you want, you can put them all sectioned off like I did in the photos here, or you can just throw them in all together and not separate them. Either way you do it, your friends and family will be enjoying delicious homemade cookies.

Step 8: Tape down the boxes on either side. A small piece of scotch tape or packing tape will do. This will help make sure they don’t come open while you’re delivering them.

Step 9: Tie ribbons around each one.

Step 10: Insert a candy cane or a Christmas card. I buy the organic candy canes here, they have no artificial colors or anything and it’s a very festive touch.
