Why You'll Love This Recipe

I’m obsessed with these Chili Lime Chicken Avocado Burgers, to say the least. And I hope you will be too! I created this recipe with my friends at Organic Prairie using their Organic Ground Pork and Organic Ground Chicken.

I seasoned the burgers with Watkins Organic Grilling Chili Lime Seasoning, which I am also obsessed with. I’ve been making so many recipes with this amazing seasoning and I have more coming up in the queue.

These Chili Lime Chicken Avocado Burgers are topped with Organic Valley Raw Sharp Cheddar Cheese, avocado, and a homemade zesty slaw. These light burgers are the perfect burger to make on the grill before summer is over!

How to Make Chili Lime Chicken Avocado Burgers

Step 1

Preheat the grill to 400°F.

Step 2

To make the slaw: In a medium bowl, add the cabbage, onion, cilantro, mayo, lime juice, and ½ teaspoon Watkins Organic Chili Lime Seasoning. Mix together and set aside.

Step 3

To make the burgers: In a medium bowl, mix together the ground chicken and ground pork. Form into four 5-ounce burgers. Flatten the balls so they are about 5-inches in diameter. Sprinkle the tops with the Watkins Chili Lime Seasoning so you have an even layer of seasoning.

Step 4

Place burgers seasoning side down on the grill. Sprinkle Watkins Chili Lime Seasoning onto the other side. Cook burgers for 7 to 9 minutes per side, until the internal temperature is 165°F.

When the burgers are almost done cooking, add the buns to the grill. Add the Organic Valley Raw Sharp Cheddar slices on top of each burger and allow to melt.

Step 5

To assemble the burgers: Add slaw onto the bun, top with burger, sliced avocado, and top bun.

Why go organic?

You may be wondering why I push organic ingredients for everything, even savory and healthy dishes. Organic ingredients go beyond just health and wellness, and contribute so much to the taste and flavor of a recipe. So, if you think that you're making something healthy and buying fruits, veggies, or meats so maybe you don't need to spend the extra to go organic here – let me sway your thinking.

Organic ingredients are made in a more pure way, therefore using no additives, no GMOs, and minimal ingredients. This really allows the true ingredients to shine – and because of that their flavor shines through. Therefore, organic ingredients are more flavorful than their non organic counterparts. So, just because it's already a healthy recipe, or you're already buying good for you ingredients – it doesn't mean you can skip organic! Trust me here, and make the switch. Your body and your taste buds will thank you!

So, I highly recommend that you buy the best organic ingredients for this recipe! You can also shop my Amazon Storefront for all my favorite organic ingredients here.
