Why You'll Love This Recipe
Mexican Inspired: If you're looking to spice up regular homemade burgers, then you will love this Mexican inspired take. These Chili Lime Chicken Avocado Burgers have a subtle zesty spice thanks to the chili lime seasoning that pair perfectly with avocado.
Pork + Chicken: I use a mix of ground pork and ground chicken in this recipe. That makes these burgers lean but with tons of flavor! This also is a nice change from traditional ground beef if you want to switch it up this summer.
Grill or No Grill: You can make these on grill or you can make them in a cast iron skillet. That makes this recipe easy to make all year round!

Ingredients & Health Benefits
- Ground Chicken: I use Organic Prairie Ground Chicken, which is a great source of lean protein. This, combined with the ground pork makes for organic burgers with lots of flavor and not too much fat.
- Ground Pork: I use Organic Prairie Ground Pork to maximize flavor.
- Chili Lime Seasoning: I'm using Watkins Organic Grilling Chili Lime Seasoning, which makes it super easy as all you need is this one spice for so much flavor in these homemade burgers.
- Cheese: I use Organic Valley Raw Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
- Avocado: Organic avocado provides flavor and healthy fat to these organic burgers.
- Green Cabbage: I use this in the slaw in place of traditional lettuce. Cabbage is a cruciferous vegetable, which is great for gut health. It also provides a great subtle crunch on these organic burgers.
- Onion: I use organic yellow onion, which is loaded with anitoxidants.
- Cilantro: Organic cilantro provides so much flavor and it can reduce inflammation.
- Mayo: I use organic mayo for the slaw.
- Lime: A little organic lime juice provides flavor in the slaw. Limes are high in vitamin C and antioxidants.
- Buns: I used the Whole Foods 365 Organic Whit Hamburger Buns for classic buns.
Tools Needed
- Mixing Bowls: You'll need two mixing bowls, one for the slaw and one to mix up the burger meat.
- Grill or Skillet: I make these homemade burgers on the grill. But, you can also do this in a large skillet if you prefer.
