Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

First step is to cook the bacon. I like to do this in my air fryer at 400°F. But you can also do this in your oven or in a skillet as well, up to you! Once the bacon is cooked, chop it into bite sized pieces. Set aside.

Step 2

Next chop your veggies into thin slices.

Step 3

Add olive oil and garlic into a large skillet over medium/high heat. Add the veggies and sauté until the onions are translucent and veggies are cooked.

Step 4

Cook the hot dogs. You can do this by boiling them over the stovetop, in your air fryer, or even on the grill! All ways are delicious.

Step 5

Lightly toast your hot dog buns (optional). Add hot dogs, veggies, and bacon to the bun. Top with condiments if you want (but not needed!).

FAQ's

How should I cook the bacon?

You can cook the bacon in your toaster oven, air fryer, or oven. This is my preferred method. I line a sheet pan with parchment paper (or foil) and bake at 400°F for about 10 to 12 minutes. You can also cook bacon in a cast iron skillet if you prefer. I like my bacon crispy, which is why I prefer the baking method.

What can I serve these with?

I love serving hot dogs with pickles! Try my Refrigerator Pickles recipe, you will love it! You can also serve these with my Lemon Herb French Fries or Garlic Ranch Pretzels.

How should I store leftovers?

If you are just making a couple hot dogs, you can just cook the couple hot dogs you need and top them. Store the extra veggies and bacon in an airtight container in the fridge. Then just heat the hot dogs for your next serving and warm up the veggies and bacon.
